Laminate brands we stock, and why

Most flooring retailers list everything. We list five laminate brands. The choice is not commercial — we sell what we have personally laid in real homes and watched stand up over years. Here is each brand we stock, what it does well, and where to use it.

AGT

Turkish manufacturer, family-owned since 1984, and one of the largest laminate makers in Europe. AGT’s 8mm and 12mm AC4 ranges sit at the centre of our laminate selection because the print quality is consistently high and the click system is reliable across long runs. The Natura wood-effect and Effect oak palettes are our most-shipped lines. A good general-purpose laminate at a fair price.

Kaindl

Austrian, family-owned, slightly more expensive than AGT and worth it for the high-gloss range specifically. Kaindl’s gloss finishes are real lacquer over a decorative paper, which gives a stone-effect or wood-effect floor a depth that no other gloss laminate matches. If you want a marble-look kitchen floor without paying marble money, Kaindl is the brand we point people at.

Falquon

German engineering at the premium end of laminate. Falquon’s high-gloss stone-effect range is the only premium gloss laminate we have tested that does not visibly scratch within months of laying. They are the brand we recommend when someone wants the look of polished marble in a high-traffic kitchen and the long-term durability to match.

Eurohome

The value brand of the five. Eurohome covers entry-level laminate at the AC3 to AC4 spec range. We use it where budget is the main constraint — rental properties, first-time buyer flats, areas where laminate is going down as a sensible stopgap. It will not match Kaindl or Falquon for surface depth but it is honest flooring at an honest price.

Aqua / Hydrolock laminate

Aqua is not a brand on its own. It is a specification: laminate with sealed plank edges and a moisture-resistant HDF core, designed for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and anywhere standing water might appear. We carry hydrolock lines from Anglo Flooring (FloorLaBs and Estilo Hydrolock) and AGT. The premium over standard laminate is 10% to 15% and the difference if a dishwasher leaks is the floor versus a new floor.

How to pick between them

If you read our honest comparison of laminate vs engineered wood first, the brand choice gets easier. AGT for general use, Kaindl or Falquon for the premium look, Hydrolock for wet rooms, Eurohome for budget. Every product page lists the spec sheet — print resolution, AC rating, thickness, click system, edge seal — so you can compare like for like.
