Who we are

This privacy notice explains how Aurino & Co (registered at Walsall Road, Darlaston, Wednesbury, WS10 9SS, United Kingdom) collects, uses and protects the personal information you share with us through our website at aurino.co.uk.

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the “data controller” for the personal information you provide.

What we collect, why, and our lawful basis

When you place an order

To process and fulfil your order we collect your name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number and order details. The lawful basis is performance of a contract — we need this information to take payment, deliver your goods and meet our consumer-rights obligations.

When you create an account

An account stores your contact details and order history so you don’t have to re-enter them. The lawful basis is performance of a contract for order details and your consent for any optional information you choose to add.

When you contact us

If you email, call, or fill in a form on the site, we keep that correspondence so we can answer you and refer back if you contact us again. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a useful customer-support service.

When you sign up for marketing

If you tick the box to receive offers, we send occasional emails or SMS. The lawful basis is your consent; you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing contact@aurino.co.uk.

When you visit the site

We use cookies and tracking pixels to make the site work, measure traffic and improve our marketing. Strictly necessary cookies rely on our legitimate interest; analytics, advertising and personalisation cookies are set only with your consent via the cookie banner.

How long we keep your data

We hold personal data only for as long as we genuinely need it. Our retention periods are:

  • Order records and invoices — six years from the end of the financial year, to satisfy HMRC and consumer-law obligations.
  • Customer accounts — for as long as your account is active, plus six years after your last order.
  • Customer-support emails and chat transcripts — three years from last contact.
  • Marketing consent records — until you unsubscribe, plus a small audit record we are required to keep.
  • CCTV at our warehouse — 30 days, unless an incident requires us to retain it longer.
  • Job applications — six months for unsuccessful applicants, unless you ask us to keep them on file.
  • Website analytics — anonymised or aggregated; cookie identifiers expire in line with our cookie banner settings.

When the retention period ends, we either delete the data or make it permanently anonymous.

Who we share your data with

We share your data only with people who help us run the business:

  • Couriers and delivery partners — name, address, phone and order weight so they can deliver your items.
  • Suppliers and manufacturers for items shipped direct from them.
  • Payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, PayItMonthly) who handle the transaction.
  • IT, hosting and email providers — our hosting company, email service and customer-service software.
  • Marketing and analytics platforms (e.g. Google, Meta, TikTok) only with your cookie consent.
  • Review platforms such as Trustpilot, only if you choose to leave a review.
  • Authorities and legal advisors if we are required to comply with the law, prevent fraud, or defend a claim.

We never sell your data.

International transfers

Some of our service providers (for example hosting and email infrastructure) operate in the EEA, the United States or other jurisdictions. Where data leaves the United Kingdom, we rely on the UK Adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to keep your information protected.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • confirm what personal data we hold about you and provide a copy (right of access);
  • correct anything that is inaccurate (right of rectification);
  • delete your data where we no longer need it (right to erasure);
  • restrict or object to certain uses (right to restriction or objection);
  • port your data to another provider in a usable format (right to data portability);
  • withdraw any consent you previously gave.

To exercise any of these, email contact@aurino.co.uk. We respond within one calendar month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Our cookie banner gives you control over which categories you accept. Strictly necessary cookies (login, basket, security) are always on; everything else is opt-in. You can change your choices at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer.

Children

Our website and products are not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know by email or with an on-site notice.
