Questions we get asked

What is the difference between an inset and a media wall fire?
An inset fire sits recessed into a wall or chimney breast so the glass front is flush with the surface. A media wall fire is built into a stud wall, usually with the TV above it, and a 3-sided or panoramic fire shows the flame through the sides as well as the front. All of ours are electric, so none of them needs a chimney.
What size fire should I choose?
Start with the width of the wall or recess and leave a margin either side. Our fires run from 42 to 84 inches wide, and each page lists the exact width, depth and height. Check the depth against your wall cavity before you build, and if you are unsure, send us your measurements and we will help you choose.
Do electric fires need a chimney or gas?
No. An electric fire needs no chimney, flue or gas, just a mains power supply. How each fire connects can differ by model and size, so check with us before your wall is built if you want to be certain.
Do they give out heat?
Yes. Alongside the flame effect they give out heat, so they can warm a room as well as set the mood.
Do you deliver fires for free?
Fires over £500 are delivered free to the UK mainland. Below that a delivery charge applies, and you will see it clearly at checkout before you pay. A handful of remote postcodes carry a surcharge, and if yours is one of them we tell you before you pay, never after.
Can I spread the cost?
On some of our fires, yes. Where Pay It Monthly is available you will see it at checkout before you pay, at 0% interest, so you pay back exactly what the fire cost and not a penny more. We never charge interest, full stop.
What is your returns policy?
You have 28 days to return an unused item in its original condition. The one cost that falls to you is return postage on an unwanted item, because larger furniture is not cheap to send back. If something has actually gone wrong with the item, that is a different conversation and it is on us.
